Music became an integral part of Ramey's life, whether it was the spontaneous family gatherings or the heartfelt hymns sung at church meetings. While he wrote music and played in high school bands, Ramey truly found his musical "fever" when he led The Dixie Flyer Band to the state finals of the True Value Hardware Country Showdown after winning a local contest, earning $1000.

His victory attracted thousands of country music fans from Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky, who recognized his "homegrown" talent. Ramey continued along his musical path, opening for renowned acts such as Dan Seals, Billy Ray Cyrus, Merle Haggard, Clay Walker, and Brooks and Dunn, solidifying his reputation as the Tri-State's hottest local singer.

With four gold and two platinum albums, as well as a Broadcast Music Incorporated airplay award, Ramey relocated to Texas after his stint in Nashville, where he crafted songs for icons like Trisha Yearwood, Doug Stone, and George Strait. Within seven months of moving to Music City, his R&B, Americana, and singer-songwriter style earned him album credits with household name artists, and even today, legendary musicians rummage through his extensive catalog of over 3500 works.

Drawn by Texas' vibrant landscapes and thriving music scene, Ramey hit the road with an independent record label in 2011, embarking on a decade-long tour across the United States, captivating audiences in theaters and listening rooms nationwide.
